Information about Playa Blanca & Lanzarote

Playa Blanca and Lanzarote have such a truely diverse choice of activities and unique places to visit, so much in fact, the whole island has been declared a Protected Biosphere.

The following is a small list of activities and local area info that we hope might help you understand how exciting Playa Blanca really is.

Sightseeing

The Montanas del Fuego, where lunch is grilled over a volcano! and a camel ride over the volcanic dunes, both in the Timanfaya National Park are simply stunning and a must do. Excursions regulary run from various locations around Playa Blanca. The island of Fuerteventura is only a short ferry trip away and the ferry port is only a 10 mins walk from our villa. Or you could take a submarine safari, also found in the port area.

The Beach

Flamingo Beach - This is the golden bay beach 5 minutes away, the sea is partially enclosed by a raised breakwater, giving calm waters for children and families to enjoy.

Papagayo Beach - This beach comprises of 3 large gloriously sandy bays. A naturists paradise! A water taxi regulary runs from Playa Blanca port as the beaches are reached via challenging cliffs. Truely a place to get away from it all.

Restaurants

With scores of restaurants within 2 miles of Atlantic Gardens, offering cuisine from around the world. Nearly all are within walking distance of the villa or a short taxi ride away. Even though we have our opinions of which ones are the best, we feel it is better to let you discover the magic for yourself.

Shopping

There is thriving local arts and crafts market every Weds and Saturday in Marina Rubicon which is well worth a visit. The Marina is a pleasant 30 minute walk along the sea front or a short taxi ride from Atlantic Gardens. There are also a host of shops selling food and drink just minutes from the villa. In the pedestrianised High Street of Playa Blanca, you can take advantage of a huge choice of VAT exempt goods, such as cosmetics, top brand perfumes and electronic devices.

Bars

Playa Blanca is renowned for its nightlife. Whether you're looking for live music, dancing or just a quiet drink. Simply take a walk along the promenade and we guarantee you'll find something different, something new, everytime you look.
